    Morgan Freeman

Warner Bros. has acquired a comedy about two old playboys whose forty year friendship is threatened when one of them falls in love and wants out of the skin game. Morgan Freeman is attached to the project as the playboy and devoted wingman that doesn’t fall in love, and who decides to break up his best friend’s relationship. The project has the working title of DIRTY OLD MEN, but that could change.

The article that broke this story from The Hollywood Reporter claims that the studio would love to re-team Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson on this project. The duo previously worked together on 2007’s THE BUCKET LIST for Warner Bros. However, Nicholson is not attached or in official negotiations to DIRTY OLD MEN, the article just stated that Nicholson “is aware of the project.”

Director Peter Segal, who may have given my generation its greatest gift by making TOMMY BOY, is interested in directing DIRTY OLD MEN. Segal also directed THE LONGEST YARD remake and 50 FIRST DATES.

Freeman and Nicholson playing two aging ladies’ men sounds worth watching, let’s hope the studio can make that happen and get Nicholson.
