    MARVIN THE MARTIAN

Move over Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, there is a new Looney Tune going front and center. MARVIN THE MARTIAN is booked to get the big screen treatment, solo-style. The movie will be a CG and live action hybrid, with Marvin being CG and the rest of the world being live action.

The film also has a director, Alex Zamm, who was attached to the live-action HONG KONG PHOOEY film we reported about over the summer. Also attached to the project are writers Paul Kaplan and Mark Torgove, who previously wrote for “Spin City,” and are currently writing a feature-length CHIPS movie. Additionally, they are looking at some big names to voice the Martian, like Mike Myers.

I am really excited for this, because I am a Looney Tunes fanatic. Any chance to introduce new audiences to Looney Tunes is always a good thing, as I have hopes they will revitalize the franchise with a new series. I’m sure we’ll hear more about this movie when they cast the voice of Marvin.

    • why don't they get someone in voice over?

son of mel blanc, billy west..?
    • Yeah, I'm sure that would work just fine. I think that they might be trying to get a big name and put them in the role to pull in more viewers. Kind of like Garfield (not trying to argue the credibility of either film), They brought in Bill Murray to do the voice and both films were great successes. Since Marvin is a lesser known loony tune, they might just want to capitalize on the name. Plus, does it really matter as long as they can do the voice?
