    Warner Bros

Well, I don’t know if this surprises anyone after the string of high quality hits Warner Bros. Pictures has had come out in the past year. The HARRY POTTER series alone constantly brings in at least $800 million worldwide per release. With all the other releases they’ve had this year, such as THE HANGOVER (which basically printed money), they have easily acquired this top position.

This year, WB made over 2 billion dollars in domestic grosses. Last year they made 1.789 billion dollars (largely due to THE DARK KNIGHT), which earned them the most profitable studio title last year and set an industry record. Not to mention that these numbers were pulled before the release of SHERLOCK HOLMES which, according to Box Office Mojo, has already made just over 65 million.

With the first half of HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS coming out in 2010, I have a sneaking suspicion that WB will again receive this title next year. I would be extremely shocked if such an important part of one of the highest-grossing film series of all time doesn’t make ridiculous amounts of money.
