Watch the short film DISTRICT 9 is based on in its entirety
You, as well as many of your fellow filmgoers, may now know of the sheer awesomeness that is DISTRICT 9 if you had pleasure of seeing it this past weekend. But did you know that the sci-fi film everyone is abuzz about was actually based on a 6 minute and 25 second short film entitled ALIVE IN JOBURG?
The short, directed by D9 mastermind Neill Blomkamp and produced by D9's star Sharlto Copley, was released by Spy Films in 2005 and has been on YouTube since June of 2006. So, there may be a good chance that some of you have already seen this. But, if you have not and you were as taken aback by D9 as the rest of America seemingly was, then I implore you to check it out...after the jump, of course!
And if anyone could tell me where I can get one of those darling baby Prawns, I'd appreciate it. I will settle for an action figure to sit on my desk, looking at me with those big yellow eyes of encouragement. I will also accept a plush version, so that I may lovingly snuggle with young Christopher Johnson Jr. What I truly have my heart set on is a real one, to help me pilot my Honda Civic while adding just an overall adorable quality to my life.
