I am the biggest Boondock Saints fan, not because I watch the movie at least once a week, or because I’m Irish and it’s a movie where we aren’t portrayed as drunken imbeciles and I’m proud of that. It’s not because I have Aequitas and Veritas tattooed on my arms, it’s not because I drove 6 hours to Dallas to be at the premiere to see the second film, or because I saw it three more times on thanksgiving after it was released in Tulsa. It’s because the movie gave me hope, and I told Mr.Duffy this when I met him. When I was to sick from my chemo to get out of bed, when I couldn’t imagine going through anymore of the throwing up, Boondock Saints was a chance for me to escape my life for a couple of hours, to delve into something that I loved that made me forget how sick I am. The movie and the cast and crew saved my life, and that is what makes me the biggest fan, because I owe them my gratitude and my life.

Alright, so what makes me the hugest Boondock Saints fan instead of just being a complete fan of all the boys, like Troy..he is my hugest inspiration ever, he came out of the woodwork from NOTHING and has made it so far, same with the actors. Norman Reedus is a complete sweetheart that definitely keeps me going for my acting career. When Boondock Saints first came out, I was the only girl in my town to be EXTREMELY excited. I’m full blooded Irish and the tone of this movie was just AWESOME. I have since then kept my full decked out edition of the original right up front on the shelf. I’ve also ecstatically collected as much merchandise as my little ginger paws could get my hands on. The movie itself was even an inspiration, I mean not ONE decent person out there wouldn’t totally be wanting to do what Connor and Murphy do. I rally hard for this movie as well as the sequel, there have been MANY times where I’ve begged and pleaded and cried and thrown a fit for the sequel, and ever since then, I’ve definitely seen it in theaters at least seven times. It is hardcore my favorite movie and sequel EVER. I joined Twitter solely on getting just new updates and such about the movie and its actors, and even when the Reviews came out, and they were bad, I put my good writing to use and wrote one of my own, I have been a diehard fan of Boondock and everyone involved since 1999. When I decided to get another Irish themed tattoo, I decided on a cross on my right wrist and I used the Troy Duffy version of the cross [The Boondock cross] of my choice and am COMPLETELY in love with it, though my tattoo ideas as a fan have not ended there and I definitely plan to get more. This poster, would probably literally make me break down in TEARS if I won it..it’s every fans wet dream to have something like this in their possession, and if that hasn’t proven that I am EXTREMELY their number one fan, I swear up and down, on Rocco’s poor soul [rest in peace dear, play lots of hockey with Greenly] that if you give me the poster, there WILL be pictures of me just weeping with pure Boondock bliss!

    • i deserve to be the biggest boondock saints fan because ever since the first time i saw the movie i was completely hooked and my love has only grown since then. i saw all saints day 4 times in theaters and loved every second of it. i watch the original every day and constantly quote both movies in my everyday life, which annoys my family and friends immensley. i look up to the entire cast and crew for doing such a remarkable job on these movies, i cannot wait to see if mr duffy throws in a thirdinstallment as he has mentioned before. i respect the other boondock fans and if im not chosen im sure it will go to someone deserving of the title, but i do however hope im in the running! THANKS FOR COMIN OUT!!!!!

    • I remember it was 2002 and it was the last days of school before summer. I was a band geek then and in those last couple of days, we really don't do much but play games, talk, and mess around because there are no concerts or UIL contests to prepare for. Anyway, my friend Chris Kelley, Jeremy Ahsam and a few others were all packed in one of the empty practice rooms and Chris wanted to show us all a movie. Being the movie geek that I was...I was stunned that I hadn't heard of it. The others told me "well, it was only in about 25 theatres, panned by critics, and didn't make much money." So I thought why not and sat down to watch. And I remember loving the heck out of it that I had to go out and own it right away. The Boondock Saints was one of my finest memories of high school. So when we heard the sequel was coming out, I called and made contact with everyone that was in that tiny practice room that one year. Chris Kelly and others had to fly in from other states to make it, but all of us made it and saw the sequel at Legacy in Plano. We loved it almost as much as the first one and couldn't believe that history could be repeated.
    • I am a huge Norman Reedus & Sean Patrick Flanery fan I have watched BDS 1 several times since seeing BDS2 watched outakes and interviews on youtube. The movie was an amazing kick ass sequel I loved it

The only reason I still say I'm from Boston is the first movie!

Well...I've seen the movie too many times to count & consider it the best movie ever! I've already seen the sequel in theatres 4 times & am seeing it for the 5th. Bought a ton of merch...several shirts, tank tops, beer glass, original bullet casing from the sequel, posters, pins, keychain, shot glasses & a freaking puzzel! Boondock Saints is just epic, I love getting new people hooked on the Saints! :D
