According to Jonah Hill (SUPERBAD, GET HIM TO THE GREEK), his 21 JUMP STREET movie that he is writing and producing will not be cheesy.

"I want to phrase it exactly how I mean it: It's a comedy that is also an action movie...a hard-core, R-rated movie."

Some people seem to be less optimistic about this project according to Hill, "Apparently, the Internet thinks it's the worst idea ever!" I on the other hand think the movie is a great idea, and the fact that Jonah Hill is behind the material makes me all the more confident in the final product. Here's what Hill says the film will be about:

See the rest of the story after the jump!

"What happens is they get caught up in the high school-ness as opposed to the police work. And whenever they get too caught up in the high school drama, police work comes in. And whenever they get too caught up in the police work, high school drama comes in."

As many of you know, the original 21 JUMP STREET is what helped launch the talented Johnny Depp into stardom, so it is only fitting that the movie would possibly have a cameo, right?

"We wrote a really awesome Johnny Depp cameo. I talked to his agent a few times. I've never met the man. He probably won't do it, but if he does, it will be one I think he'd be proud of, and it's a real crowd pleaser. It's not cheesy."

There you go, this film is NOT going to be cheesy. I for one am excited about a 21 JUMP STREET movie. What do you guys think?

The idea of putting undercover cops in high school sets up for a comedy immediately. So to have a crew of people approach it with a Hot Fuzz vibe is a great idea, I think.

(I secretly liked the show when I was younger, sue me!)
