The guidelines for Academy Awards Best Picture eligibility have been released, leading to a whopping 248 films available for nomination.

That number is down 9% from last year (274), but it still covers a wide array of films. After the break, check out a handy summary of the guidelines from Deadline, along with our best shots in the dark as to what films your mama will (most likely) want to see make the final ten.

You're going to be seeing a lot of speculation as to what might be nominated over the next few weeks from the film community at large. But what does your mother want to see get the nod? Remember, sometimes your mom likes to go to the movies, she even gets the occasional "the red box." So what are some films your mom might like to see nominated this year? Check out our 10 best guesses.

10: LEAP YEAR

"I just love that Amy Adams, her red hair makes her approachable yet she is still very pretty in a plain kind of way. Don't you think she'd be the perfect girlfriend for you? You do still like girls right? I haven't seen you date anyone on a while."

9: HOW DO YOU KNOW

"Oh, now this movie was fun! Though I'm not a big fan of that Paul Rudd, he always says rude things to ladies. But he reminds me a lot of your father before the divorce."

8: BURLESQUE

"You probably don't know this, but Cher was a really big star back in the day. I remember one Halloween I dressed as her from the music video for 'If I Could Turn Back Time'."

7: BABIES

"I remember when you were a baby. You used to play with pots in the kitchen while I did the dishes and made dinner. You were so cute. But now you have all your friends so it's okay that you don't call me every day, I'm just fine sitting home alone watching Dancing With The Stars..."

6: SEX AND THE CITY 2

"Your father won't touch me like that anymore."

5: ECLIPSE

"This is that film all those 'hipsters' are watching nowadays? I really liked the ethnic one who turned into a dog. I think Kristin Steward deserves a Best Actor award for playing Willa."

4: SECRETARIAT

"Horse movies just seem so safe, that's why I love them."

3: EAT, PRAY, LOVE

"Julia Roberts is so beautiful! I loved this book, so that's why I love this movie, it's hard to separate the two so why bother?"

2: THE SOCIAL NETWORK

"Why aren't you my friend on Facebook? What are you hiding?"

1: AVATAR

"This is definitely the best movie of 2010, it already won an Oscar so it should definitely get an Academy Award."
