We've known for sometime now that Taylor Lautner (TWILIGHT) has been attached to star in STRETCH ARMSTRONG, but who would direct the film was information that was yet to be given to us-- that was until today!

Universal has pulled in Rob Letterman (MONSTERS VS. ALIENS, SHARK TALE) to direct the film, along with Nick Stoller (FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL, YES MAN) set to rewrite the script previously written by Steve Oedekerk (BRUCE ALMIGHTY, ACE VENTURA: WHEN NATURE CALLS). ARMSTRONG will reunite Letterman and Stoller, who recently worked together on the upcoming comedy GULLIVER'S TRAVELS starring Jason Segel, Jack Black, and Emily Blunt.

Well, it's a stretch but Hollywood is attempting to make the popular toy of the late '70s into a successful big screen blockbuster. It looks like they are trying to stay on course with the action-comedy route that Oedekerk was taking the film, which is probably a better idea than trying to make it a straight action film that takes itself too seriously. After all, it is just about a guy that has the ability to stretch his limbs. An ability I'm sure many ladies will line-up to see Taylor Lautner possess.

Oh, you behave! I was talking about his arms...
