A few details arise for Kathryn Bigelow’s secret black-ops thriller
Finally, some light is being shed upon one of the more interesting projects rumored to be in the pipeline.
According to a report by Variety, not only has IM Global nabbed up the sales rights to the much hyped, yet-to-be-titled black ops thriller from the team of director Kathryn Bigelow and scribe Mark Boal, but the film’s plot apparently involves the most wanted man on this planet:
“Sources say the plot concerns the hunt for Osama Bin Laden.”
Excited? Because this writer is.
The film is still looking to shoot prior to Bigelow and Boal starting production on their drug parable TRIPLE FRONTIER, which the report states starts production in the fall. For those who may not remember, this is particularly interesting, because producer Charles Roven has stated that FRONTIER should start production come March or April.
FRONTIER’s status not withstanding, this thriller seems to be very, very much in the works for the HURT LOCKER duo, and I honestly can’t wait. Bigelow is an absolutely fantastic action filmmaker, and Boal is her soulmate on the writing side of things. We live in a truly blessed world when no matter what, we’ll be getting either one of these films as Bigelow’s next film. A truly blessed world.
