A few more seconds of new SUPER 8 footage hit in new TV spot
Weirdly, it appears as though director J.J. Abrams isn’t all that worried about spoiling his hotly anticipated summer project, SUPER 8.
After debuting a relatively large chunk of footage at this year’s CinemaCon, Paramount has released (via Bleeding Cool) a new TV spot that, while not earth-shatteringly long, does feature a few moments new to us.
The spot itself is only one minute long, but it does give us a new look at the children that look to be the film’s main focus, and that there is also some sort of issue with a garbage dumpster. Don’t know what to expect with that, but then again, that’s exactly what Abrams has been wanting throughout his career.
SUPER 8 is best described as Abrams’ attempt at ‘80s era Steven Spielberg, kind of his CLOSE ENCOUNTERS. The film follows a series of events following a train crash, with the focus on a group of kids who are trying to make a zombie movie. The premise sounds really interesting, and given a great cast, including names like Elle Fanning, this could be the king of this year’s massively crowded summer.
