A third BILL AND TED film actually happening
I know that we hear about another BILL AND TED movie about as often as we hear about a third GHOSTBUSTERS film, but from everything we've heard lately a third BILL AND TED is legitimately in the works.
We now have a quote from Bill himself, Alex Winter, talking about the current state of the film, which you can check out after the break.
"We kicked around the idea over the years and had always thought if we could make something that was as kind of genuine in spirit as the originals and without falling prey to kind of retro cynicism or something that was unnecessary, it would be worth doing…the truth is that, yeah, we have finally hit upon an idea that we think is pretty great. We’ve been working on it for the past couple of years, honing that idea and getting it into shape."
It sounds like they're putting a lot of thought into how they can correctly make the film, which is certainly a good thing, considering most second sequels usually don't end well. With the main cast (minus George Carlin) all wanting to return for the sequel this could be a really fun film.
It will be hard to take a BILL AND TED film without George Carlin, as it was what introduced me to the comedian. Because of EXCELLENT ADVENTURE, I found my favorite stand-up of all time. This new sequel could be a great way to pay him some well deserved honor.
