Aaron Eckhart joins THE EXPATRIATE
With RABBIT HOLE looking to take the awards landscape by storm, actor Aaron Eckhart has apparently found himself a brand new project.
According to Deadline, the actor has joined the cast of the upcoming drama, THE EXPATRIATE. The film will be helmed by Philipp Stolzl, best known for his film NORTH FACE, and will involve an ex-CIA agent who tries to make a relationship with his 15 year old daughter after moving to Belgium. He goes to his first day of work at a corporation as a security guard, only to find that the company doesn’t exist, and those who worked for it have disappeared. He and his daughter go on the run, and must learn to work and trust each other.
Personally, I think this film sounds a lot like the upcoming Joe Wright film, HANNA, and while I’m massively jazzed to see that film, this one doesn’t exactly strike me as all that intriguing. I’m interested to see what Eckhart can do with this particular material, and since I’m a rather big fan of his work, I’m definitely interested.
That all said, it’s going to take one hell of a trailer to get my ass in a seat, based on this film’s premise. What about you?
