Aaron Johnson is not Cyclops in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS
Damn you Movieweb, way to kill all of my hopes for the upcoming film, X-MEN: FIRST CLASS.
While that’s not wholly true, the outlet is indeed reporting that Aaron Johnson will not be starring in Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming film, as the lead member of the X-Men, Cyclops. Find out why, after the jump.
The actor was once rumored to be in the role since Vaughn jumped on to helm the project, but has since been rumored to be out of it, and then back in, in what was the film’s first real bit of casting news. Well, now thanks to producer Tarquin Pack, we know that “Aaron’s kind of busy,” and will not be joining the cast.
All in all, while this does hurt the film, with the likes of James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender as part of the film’s cast, you really can’t go wrong. Or at least I’m hoping. I dig Vaughn as a filmmaker, and while I’m not a huge fan of KICK-ASS, he is an inspired choice to take up the reins of the X-MEN franchise. Here’s to hoping this will bring some much needed life to this slowly dying film franchise.
