Fine. I’ll bite. This kind of sounds amazing.
When rumors of a possible UPTOWN SATURDAY NIGHT remake sparked, very little buzz surrounding the project was remotely positive. However, with this new report from Deadline, that’s about to change.
The outlet reports that director Adam McKay will helm the pending remake, with none other than Will Smith and Denzel Washington attached to star in the project. The film will follow a pair of crooks who steal a winning lottery ticket, with Smith and Washington set to take on the roles previously portrayed by Bill Cosby and Sidney Poitier.
Personally, while I haven’t seen the original film in ages, I absolutely can’t wait to see this threesome take their shot at the story. I think McKay is one of, if not the, best comedic directors around, and who better to star in a film like this than Washington and Smith? All around, this film sounds fantastic and I can’t wait to check it out.
What do you think?
