Adria Petty makes feature directing debut with SUFFOCATE
Adria Petty is making her narrative feature directing debut with SUFFOCATE. If her name sounds familiar, it’s because she is the daughter of legendary singer-songwriter, Tom Petty. She already has some directing credentials under her belt with commercials for McDonalds, Converse, and Target. She has also made music videos for Beyonce, Regina Spektor, and Anjulie, as well as a concert DVD for Regina Spektor. Her 2008 documentary PARIS, NOT FRANCE screened at Toronto Film Festival.
SUFFOCATE is "a thriller about a group of city workers who enter a hoarder's condemned brownstone and find it loaded with deadly traps, and an unrelenting killer. The group is forced to use their wits--and demolition tools--to stay alive." SUFFOCATE is coming to us from Radar Pictures and is penned by Ben Olson.
The film seems like it's in early stages of development and not much else is known about it yet. It will be interesting to see how Petty's first feature turns out.
