October 19th, 2010

This year's AFI Fest is rapidly approaching, and only continues to send out more and more exciting news regarding its schedule and various innovative sections. The festival's slate reads like a what's what of some of the year's biggest festival hits, and I couldn't be more pleased that I didn't need to travel all the way to, I don't know, oh, say Cannes, to see some of the films that will be playing in my own backyard.

The festival has just announced the films that will make up five of its sections: World Cinema, Midnight, Alt/Art, Breakthrough, and Shorts. The World Cinema selections include such highlights as 12 ASSASSINS, BOY, CERTIFIED COPY, RUBBER, and UNCLE BOONMEE WHO CAN RECALL HIS PAST LIVES. The Shorts section will feature films like PIXELS, SOME BOYS DON'T LEAVE, and TUB (from GATW rapping partner in crime, Bobby Miller). After the break, check out the full listing of each section's films (get ready - it's a long one)!
