Al Pacino in Rome
Al Pacino is busy guy. He just released RIGHTEOUS KILL, he's working a new movie called SALOMAYBE?, he's the co-president of the Actors Studio in New York and today he opened up the third Rome Film Fest. He was awarded at the opening with a Marc’Aurelio Acting Award to commemorate his lifetime of achievements in film, and rightly so; SCARFACE, THE GODFATHER, SERPICO, all classics! He also received a prize on behalf of the Actors Studio. The Studio, which you probably know best from the hit A&E show 'Inside the Actors Studio, just celebrated its 61st birthday! With such a long history, the list of actors to have come out of the there is amazing: Sydney Poitier, Gene Hackman, Marlon Brando, and yes, Mr. Pacino. I guess we know now were he got his acting chops, and he dispensed some of that acting advice in Rome:
"Learn your words, and how to rehearse, and then rehearse... My style is to allow the unconscious to be free, so you don't censor yourself."
Free advice from a movie legend! Priceless.
