Albert Brooks joins Nicolas Winding Refn’s DRIVE
After finally getting the full way caught up with the fantastically dark and comedic Showtime hit, Weeds, one thing stood above and beyond in my mind.
Albert Brooks needs more work.
Well, apparently my best friend, Nicolas Winding Refn, thinks the same thing about the show's guest star.
According to Deadline, the thespian has joined the cast of Refn’s upcoming film, DRIVE, and will play a “New York mobster who comes to LA and is not to be messed with.” Perfect casting if you ask me.
Personally, while Weeds in and of itself is a great show, there is something about Brooks’ work in it that again proves that he is one hell of a talent, that unfortunately doesn’t get enough work these days. Throw in the guidance of a filmmaker who I genuinely believe is one of the best alive, and a cast including Bryan Cranston, Carey Mulligan, and of course the film’s star, Ryan Gosling, and you have a film that is one of my most anticipated coming down the line. What do you think?
