alessandro nivola replaces michael fassbender in a single shot

Alessandro Nivola (JUNEBUG) has signed on to star in indie-thriller A SINGLE SHOT, replacing Michael Fassbender, who recently dropped out due to his burgeoning schedule.

Nivola, a shockingly underrated actor, will star opposite a heavyweight cast, including the likes of Emily Mortimer (SHUTTER ISLAND), William H. Macy (MAGNOLIA), Juliette Lewis (CONVICTION), Terrence Howard (CRASH) and Juno Temple (ATONEMENT).

Adapted from Matthew F. Jones' acclaimed novel of the same name, A SINGLE SHOT follows John Moon, who, while on a deer-poaching expedition, accidentally shoots and kills a woman. While trying to cover up his misdeed, he comes across a sack of money and a murderer who’s hellbent on reclaiming it.

David Jacobson (FALLING UP) is attached to direct from a script penned by the novel's writer.

Co-financed by Bron Studios and Unified Pictures, filming on A SINGLE SHOT is expected to begin in May, meaning a mid/late-2012 release is more than likely.
