Leatherface is approaching his return in THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D, which is quickly coming together as production approaches. A couple of weeks ago, we got a little bit of insight on the plot of the upcoming film, and were introduced to the female lead of the film, Heather.

There is now a face to the character, as Alexandra Daddario (PERCY JACKSON) has been cast in the role.

In the film, Heather travels to Texas to pick up an inheritance she was awarded, but finds out she shares lineage with none other than Leatherface. What a shock that must be, not exactly the thing you'd hope to pop up on Joining her will be Tania Raymonde (Lost), who will play her best friend Nikki.

The jury is still out on how this film will turn out, but that's the nature of a franchise film like this. I do find it fascinating that the film will be a direct sequel to the original Tobe Hooper classic, but will take place in modern day. It gives the ability for a really fresh different take, while still upholding the expectations that the series has created. So far, my interest is definitely piqued.
