AMC re-teaming with Robert Kirkman for series based on ‘Thief Of Thieves’

Talk about a burgeoning friendship.

With The Walking Dead finding its second wind with a masterful second season, AMC and Robert Kirkman will be re-teaming to bring yet another book of his to the small screen.  This time, it’s going to be something wholly different.

AMC will be adapting Kirkman’s new title, Thief Of Thieves, for television.  The book follows a master thief  “with a dual identity who, while struggling to quit the business, opts to steal only what has already been stolen.”

Now, while we don’t know anything about casting, I have been a rather big fan of the book up to this point (it’s admittedly in its third issue, which only hit this week), and I think it could be one hell of a TV franchise.  A perfect fit for AMC’s slate, this is some really great news, as a heist series on TV has been desperately needed for some time now.  Hopefully this can be the show we heist fans have been waiting for.
