Andrew Garfield considering lead role in THE ROBBER

Andrew Garfield is one hot commodity right now. Following his fantastic performance in THE SOCIAL NETWORK and his pitch-perfect role in NEVER LET ME GO, it seems as if Andrew Garfield is cast in something new every week. Outside of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, THE ROBBER is by far the most interesting of these films. It's a bank robbery film, one which fits in with the romanticized banks and thieves of the New Hollywood era.

THE ROBBER is actually a remake of a German film of the same name which centers around a marathon runner and all around all-star athlete who robs banks for sport; when you're at peak physical condition, what better way to get a runner's high than running from the police? The synopsis of the film, courtesy of indieWIRE, portrays the main character as a very calculating and precise individual who methodically plans out his heists.

Garfield is a tremendous actor who could deliver quite the performance if given the role. He's currently working on THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN right now, which means his involvement in THE ROBBER is quite speculative. However, those two films share a producer, which heightens the chances of him landing the lead role.

Love this guy! Really hope the new Spiderman movies come together well, I think Garfield is perfect for Peter Parker. This film sounds interesting too, I love a good heist movie. :)
