Andrew Garfield joins BACK ROADS
With SPIDER-MAN set to make a household name out of SOCIAL NETWORK star Andrew Garfield, he’s apparently caught the eye of many filmmakers in the meantime.
Variety has revealed that he’ll join the cast of Adrian Lyne’s next film, BACK ROADS.
The first film from Lyne since 2002’s UNFAITHFUL, this will follow “a young man (Garfield) who is forced to care for his three younger sisters after their mother is sent to prison for killing her abusive husband,” and is based off of the Tawni O’Dell novel.
Jennifer Garner and Marcia Gay Harden will star in the film as well, with Garner playing Garfield’s romantic interest, and Harden playing a therapist. Personally, I’m a fan of Lyne as a filmmaker, and I think it really goes without saying that Garfield is a really fantastic actor, who needs to do as much as humanly possible, as he’s a talent that we can’t really get enough of. Overall, the premise doesn’t sound all that intriguing, but with this team behind the film, it should prove to be quite a compelling project.
