Andy Serkis is a pretty interesting actor, as he is most well known for playing some of the most iconic CGI characters of the past decade. Although my favorite performance of his might be as KING KONG, most are more familiar with his performance as Gollum in LORD OF THE RINGS. He may not have looked like himself on screen, but he provided the movements and the voice. Now he’s looking to do another CGI role, but as a much smaller monkey in RISE OF THE APES.

Serkis will play a monkey named Caesar who leads a huge attack on the humans. Although that doesn’t give us much insight into the actual film, I do have faith that Serkis is perfect for the role.

The film doesn’t exactly sound like anything super special, but the cast does make me wonder otherwise. Additions like James Franco and John Lithgow make this project sound pretty awesome. The addition of Andy Serkis only makes this ring truer.
