Animation studio Laika setting up GOBLINS for next project
As their next film, PARANORMAN, looks to be an absolute riot, animation studio Laika seems to have guaranteed a steady roll that shows no signs of stopping. And now, we know what will be next for the beloved crew.
Variety reports that Laika has tapped FANTASTIC MR. FOX animation director Mark Gustafson to helm GOBLINS, the studio’s take on Philip Reeves’ novel of the same name. Following the story of a goblin named Skarper, our lead must team with the rest of his family to take on a new problem.
Personally, as a huge fan of Laika’s canon, I have high hopes for this one. They have made a number of great films, including CORALINE, and considering this talented filmmaker and a great premise, GOBLINS sounds promising. While I haven’t read the book, its reviews have been great, so expectations are really high.
