Apparently it was a late April Fool’s joke; Davis Guggenheim leaves Justin Bieber biopic
Hey, remember that one day, when there was an insane announcement that director Davis Guggenheim, the same man who helmed AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH, was going to direct a Justin Bieber biopic, in 3D no less?
Yeah, apparently it was simply a fever dream, as that isn’t the case, just 24 hours later. Check out the full story after the jump.
According to Deadline, he has jumped out of the film’s director's chair, claiming that his schedule just wouldn’t work with this new project. Paramount is still looking for directors for this project, as this is no doubt one of the studio’s more hyped projects, at least amongst the twelve year old, screaming girl demographic.
And in this world of TWILIGHT, that is one hell of a powerful demo.
Sure, it was interesting to see a really impressive filmmaker like Guggenheim decide that this is an important project, but I don’t know if I’ve ever been less interested in a film. That said, I’m fine with knowing that this isn’t for me. I can sleep well at night knowing that.
