Just two days ago, we announced that Rob Corddry (HOT TUB TIME MACHINE) had joined the likes of Jennifer Garner and Kate Hudson in BUTTER, a film about a butter sculpting champ who retires only to see his wife take up his trade. The wife must then face off against a butter sculpting prodigy in the form of a young adopted African-American girl.
Well, spread it on because the film has added Ashley Greene (TWILIGHT) to its cast! Greene will play "a rebellious high school teenager named Kaitlen Pickler."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jim Field Smith (SHE'S OUT OF MY LEAGUE) will direct the Black List-ranked script from Jason Micallef, which begins filming next week in Louisiana. At the time our article was published on Wednesday, there was no official word on who was to helm the project though, as we mentioned, Craig Gillespie (LARS AND THE REAL GIRL) was once attached.
The trade also reported that the film not only centers around Corddry and Garner's characters, but "follows a number of competitive characters in a small Midwestern town as they become entwined in an annual butter-carving contest."
