Atlas isn’t the only one shrugging at the trailer for ATLAS SHRUGGED

There are trailers, there are bad trailers, and then there is the trailer for ATLAS SHRUGGED. I’ve already made my thoughts on this film adaptation perfectly clear, and to be quite honest I’m floored that we’re seeing a trailer for this film at all. I never would have thought Atlas Shrugged could ever be adapted to a feature film, though by the looks of this trailer it doesn’t look to meet the high standards Dagny Taggart sets. I can’t even begin to describe this train wreck of a trailer, so I’ll just leave it after the jump to explain itself.

Not only does the trailer have straight-to-DVD quality visuals, Razzie destined dialogue, and downright abysmal music, it expects its viewers to honestly believe that there are industrial tycoons still sitting atop the now dormant locomotive industry. I can’t even imagine how terrible this film is destined to be, which is poetically ironic considering how elitist and haughty the subject matter is.

I don’t know about you, but I’d prefer not to watch a film about bourgeois fat cats fighting over rail lines and alloy patents. The best that could come of this film is a cult film experience reminiscent of THE ROOM. One can only hope, right?
