AVATAR’s theme song now online
Every once in a while, a song comes along that transcends the barriers of language to deliver a universal song about the power of love. This is not one of those times. The new theme song from the AVATAR soundtrack is available online and it is pretty awful.
Titled "I See You," it is sung by Leona Lewis and is somewhat reminiscent of "My Heart Will Go On." There's only one problem: Leona Lewis is no Celine Dion. For all the jokes that were made at her expense when "My Heart Will Go On" became an international hit, you have to admit that when it comes on your car radio you secretly sing along. Maybe you even lift your hands from the steering wheel and whisper, "I'm flying, Jack," though I don't recommend you do that.
Celine Dion has a hell of a voice and stage presence, but Lewis just falls flat for me. I wonder why James Cameron even thought this would be a good idea. Maybe I'm being too harsh, hear the song for yourself after the jump.
