Barry Levinson

Coming off of the massively lauded TV film, YOU DON’T KNOW JACK (which garnered 15 Emmy nods),director Barry Levinson is set to head back to the world of true story filmmaking with a brand new project.

Deadline has revealed that Levinson will direct a film entitled O.K.C., which follows the terror attack that took place in Oklahoma City in 1995.

Penned by Clay Wold, the film will follow Wold’s actual brother, who was a file clerk on the defense group for the bomber in question here, Timothy McVeigh. Wold is set to send in a new draft of the script sometime next week, as this film appears to be on the fast track.

Personally, while I think Levinson has had a relatively mixed filmography, I do have a lot of interest in seeing what he could do with a film like this. He’s a fantastic director, and one that should be able to really do well within a film like this, given his work on things like JACK and POLIWOOD.

What do you think? Is this a film that you are interested in checking out?
