Bill Hader and Anna Faris ain’t afraid of dispelling no GHOSTBUSTERS 3 casting rumors

There's more back-and-forth when it comes to GHOSTBUSTERS 3 than there is in one of those homoerotic, tug-o-war themed Abercrombie & Fitch photo shoots.

For your example, Dan Aykroyd recently confirmed that the film was already in the casting process with a couple of “strong possibilities” already in the The Trap. It was soon discovered that those strong possibilities were rumored to include funny man and funny lady Bill Hader and Anna Faris. Yet, while obviously psyched by the prospect (and who wouldn't be?), Mr. Hader and Miss Faris know nothing of their inclusion in this GHOSTBUSTERS 3 casting.

Check out what they had to say after the break.

Hader told The Playlist, "I heard about it the same way you guys did! I went online and was like, ‘Woah! Cool!’ All my friends were calling, ‘Are you gonna be in GHOSTBUSTERS 3?’ I obviously am very flattered, but I don’t know anything about it."

While Faris - who costars in YOGI BEAR with Aykroyd - told Making Of a similar story, she stated that she wasn't sure where the rumors started but she would love to be in the film. She added, "I don't even know what I would do in it?" to which the interviewer (our good friend, Weston Green) replies, "Just hang out." Her reply to that? "Yeah! Gatekeeper. Keymaster." And that is why Anna Faris is awesome.

What we have here is a clear case of wish list leak. Aykroyd and co. likely have a dream team of new school comedians like Hader and Faris that they would like to have in the film. As these things go, that list got out before they were formally contacted by the studio. Badda bing, badda boom! A silly misunderstanding turned PR campaign that may work in their favor.
