Aubrey Plaza (FUNNY PEOPLE, Parks and Recreation) is already set to star in THE HAND JOB, but Bill Hader is letting everyone know that a lot more familiar faces have joined the cast. Andy Samberg (SNL), Donald Glover (Community), Alia Shakwat (Arrested Development), and Mae Whitman (SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD) will all be on board if financing for the film goes through.
Written by Hader's wife Maggie Carey, the Charlie Sheen impressionist (that's Hader) had this to say about the story in a recent interview for PAUL (which hits theaters March 18th):
“It’s about her playing an type-A, studious girl who graduates high school and hasn’t done anything with a guy. The summer before college she decides that she has to find out how to do everything in order to be properly prepared, so she makes a very serious bullet list of everything, like… hand-job, titty-fuck, blow-job, fingering, and just kinda checks one off every time she does it. She’s being the aggressor and is very straight-forward about it, like ‘Okay, so I’m going to give you a hand-job now.’ And the guys are very taken aback about it, especially her straight-laced friends.”
The script apparently was extremely well-received at the Austin Film Festival earlier this year, and with this cast in place THE HAND JOB shouldn't have any problem getting the green light.
