Bill Murray confirms role in GHOSTBUSTERS 3

One of the most popular things movie sites have been talking about in the last few months is GHOSTBUSTERS 3. Back in December, Sigourney Weaver chimed in on some GHOSTBUSTERS 3 news (a few spoilers), and then in January, Ivan Reitman confirmed he will be directing. Now, we're waiting to see which veteran Ghostbuster will return (I'm certain all four), and who will be the new team taking on ghostly baddies. Well, hit the jump to read a statement made by Peter Venkman himself, Mr. Bill Murray. WARNING: THERE IS A H U G E SPOILER!
"I said to them, 'I'll do it if you kill me off in the first reel.' So now they are going to have me as a ghost in the film."
This is what Murray told British newspaper, Mail On Sunday. I'm not sure if I like this idea. Venkman was my favorite character in GHOSTBUSTERS and the thought of him being killed off seems a bit brutal. I have no doubt Reitman & co. can make this work and work well, but I'm going to stay on the fence until I learn more.
