Timur Bekmambetov's (fun to say, less fun to spell) newest film is ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER, and while some might be put off by the flashy adaptation of the popular Stephen Grahame-Smith novel, I can't wait to see it and subsequently probably not like it. The flick will be released on June 22 by Fox, but that doesn't mean Bekmambetov is resting on his laurels.

According to Deadline, Bekmambetov's Bazelevs has acquired the script to THE CURRENT WAR, one of many scripts that appeared on the 2011 Black List. The film details the true life public battle fought between Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse. For the uninformed, Edison was a promoter of direct current, while Westinghouse was in the Tesla camp as a supporter of alternating current.

The script was written by Michael Mitnick, who is apparently working on the libretto for the stage adaptation of ANIMAL HOUSE and awaiting the 2013 premiere of his play Ed, Downloaded.
