With director Darren Aronofsky following up BLACK SWAN with a much different project (THE WOLVERINE), the film’s scribe, Mark Heyman, has just found himself his own new project.

The writer, who shares writing credits on BLACK SWAN with writers John McLaughlin and Andres Heinz, is set to write the upcoming sci-fi film, AGE OF RAGE, with director Marc Webb attached to direct.

RAGE will follow a “post-apocalyptic society where all the adults have died and a group of teens sets about trying to establish a new society,” and should follow SPIDER-MAN for the up-and-coming Webb, as it is based off of an original idea. This, however, won’t be the first sci-fi venture for the writer post BLACK SWAN, as he’s already penned the script for Aronofsky’s upcoming film, MACHINE MAN, which is being set up at Mandalay.

Personally, I absolutely love this news, as Heyman’s SWAN script is one of my favorite pieces of thriller writing I’ve read in quite some time. He’s an immensely talented writer, and with Webb at the helm, this could be one hell of a film.
