Blake Lively to steal the lead role in Cuaron’s GRAVITY?

You know, if there is one filmmaker to make casting Blake Lively seem like a good thing, it’s Alfonso Cuaron.

According to NY Daily News, even though Scarlett Johansson has “verbally agreed” to star in his upcoming film, the sci-fi thriller, GRAVITY, the outlet is reporting that actress Blake Lively is meeting with the filmmaker, all in attempt to steal the female lead out from under Johansson. More information, after the jump.

Now, while I’m not a huge fan of Lively, she is looking to step out into more interesting projects, with films like the solid-looking tentpole project, GREEN LANTERN, and also Ben Affleck’s next film, THE TOWN, so this would be a really stark step out from the actress’ comfort zone.

Honestly, I’m not the biggest fan of either of these actresses. While I do think that Johansson is a stronger thespian, no contest actually, I think that a director of Cuaron’s talent could make most actors look far better than they actually are.

That all said, while Johansson hasn’t officially signed yet, it seems like an all but done deal. More on this as it comes.
