BOND 23 set for a November 9, 2012 release
Well, I'll be damned.
Just as everything seemed to be going against this iconic franchise, MGM has announced that the upcoming BOND 23 will not only be directed by Sam Mendes, but will see a release on November 9, 2012.
The film will star Daniel Craig, and will be based off of a script penned by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, and John Logan. Hit the jump for more information.
This is far from surprising, as news as of late seemed to be actually moving forward for the film, despite the ever present financial woes that MGM has had. This comes about a week after the announcement that the studio has given worldwide theatrical distribution rights to their other cash cow, THE HOBBIT, to WB, all set into motion after the studio filed for bankruptcy back in December.
The film will not in fact be distributed by MGM either, with likely homes being either Sony or Paramount. This all bodes very well for one of the film world’s most beloved franchises, which seemed to be waiting in the wings for some sort of momentum to push it to a release. Details are being kept under wraps, but expect the film to move its production forward relatively soon.
