Bradley Cooper to join PARADISE LOST?
First, he gets the lead role in a remake of an Alex Proyas-directed cult classic, and now he is working with the man himself.
Variety is reporting that Bradley Cooper is in talks to join Proyas’ long-gestating adaptation of John Milton’s beloved Paradise Lost.
Being set up over at Legendary Pictures, the film will see Cooper take on the role of Lucifer in the adaptation of the classic 17th-century poem. The story follows a war between archangels Michael and the aforementioned Lucifer, and ultimately the latter’s impact on Adam and Eve. Ryan Condal has penned the project’s latest draft, which followed in the footsteps of drafts penned by Lawrence Kasdan, Byron Willinger, Philip de Blasi, and Stuart Hazeldine.
This is a really interesting change of pace for Cooper. Personally, I think he’s a relatively gifted actor who has become one of the biggest names around. At least this is more interesting casting than his involvement with THE CROW. Proyas is an interesting director (even if something like KNOWING did fail), so this should be quite a compelling project that has seen its stock just rise quite a bit.
