Green Lantern

THOR hits this weekend, and that big screen take on the mighty Marvel Norse God brings a new trailer for DC’s big summer release, GREEN LANTERN.

The trailer has hit the web today, thanks to Yahoo!, and while it features a boat load of brand new footage, it also features nearly all CGI which, while it may not be a bad thing, it does seem to prove that this film may not be much more than simply a lot, and I mean a lot, of gorgeous visuals.

Starring Ryan Reynolds, the film so far has been promoted as a funny action comedy, a thriller, and now a galaxy-spanning action film, making the promotion of this film one of the weirder sequences of marketing events in quite some time. That said, the jump that’s been made from that awful teaser to today has been immaculate, and I must say, this thing looks really great.

While I’m not too keen on seeing Peter Sarsgaard tossed into the background, everything I’ve seen following that first teaser has been top notch, and this, while weirdly toned, does really get me excited. I think the effects look good, and if the film is half as action-packed as this hints at, we are in for something special.
