Bryan Cranston joins Andrew Stanton’s JOHN CARTER OF MARS
Bryan Cranston, star of that one show I've been meaning to watch, "Breaking Bad," but perhaps best known as Hal from "Malcolm in the Middle," has signed on to WALL-E director Andrew Stanton’s JOHN CARTER OF MARS. The film is an adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs' science fiction novel,
"A Princess of Mars," the first of his famous Barsoom series.
The story stars Taylor Kitsch as John Carter, a Civil War soldier who finds himself on Mars. Once there, he becomes involved in a war between Martian groups. Cranston will play a Civil War colonel who has a run-in with the main character.
JOHN CARTER OF MARS marks Pixar's first foray into live action. Cranston joins the already solid lineup of Willem Dafoe, Samantha Morton, Lynn Collins, Polly Walker, and Kitsch.
Cranston is one of those great character actors and it is wonderful to see him getting the recognition he deserves. In 2008 and 2009, he won an Emmy for his work as Walter White in AMC's "Breaking Bad."
