Bryan Cranston joins ROCK OF AGES
Another superb actor has been added to the already great ROCK OF AGES cast. Deadline reports that Bryan Cranston will join the film as the mayor and husband of Catherine Zeta-Jones' character. Zeta-Jones will be playing a conservative woman who wants to ban rock and roll.
Apparently both characters were not present in the Broadway musical, and have been added for the film. The film is being adapted and directed by Adam Shankman, who has experience directing film musicals. In 2007 he directed the remake of HAIRSPRAY and also directed the Internet hit, PROP 8: THE MUSICAL.
The ROCK OF AGES cast is full of talent, and so much of it that it makes me nervous. I feel like the cast is too good to be true and I will be anxious to see if the film is a hit.
The film is slated for a release date of June 1, 2012.
