There are two people who will always hold a little spot in nerd's hearts everywhere. Those people are Leonard Nimoy (for his iconic character Spock from the Star Trek series) and Bryan Singer (for giving us Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in  X-MEN). These days,  Leonard Nimoy is too busy busting up the small screen on "Fringe" to be making headlines. Bryan Singer, on the other hand, has some work ahead of him. We all rejoiced when news hit that Singer would return to direct X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, but now it seems that the plans have changed...

Brian Singer announced today that he will no longer be directing X-MEN: FIRST CLASS. But worry not fellow X-Nerds, Singer will still be attached to the project as producer! I actually feel like this is going to result in a better FIRST CLASS film. This will allow Singer to oversee the project and make sure things stay "Classy" while allowing a fresh pair of eyes to get behind the lens of the series. The film reportedly centers around the rivalry between Professor X and Magneto and will most likely become a new trilogy of films.

Singer will be directing a new film titled, JACK THE GIANT KILLER and Fox is aiming for a summer 2011 release. Be sure to check back for updates on the new director of X-MEN: FIRST CLASS sometime soon!
