Cameron Crowe

I wouldn't say I am a huge Elton John fan, but I do belt out "Benny and the Jets" regularly at work, and personally I would love to see a piano battle between Elton John and Billy Joel.

Cameron Crowe is clearly a fan of Elton John, and the Tribeca Film Festival's opening film is set to be Crowe's documentaty about John, THE UNION. Not only will there be a free outdoor screening of the film, but a concert will follow.

THE UNION is a film that will be following the making of the album The Union, which was a project that was co-created between Elton John and songwriter and musician Leon Russell, who also started in the 60's and is a well-known session musician. In working together on the album, the two spoke to each other for the first time in 38 years. Other big musicians such as Stevie Nicks and Don Was are also in the film.If you are making it to the Tribeca Film Festival, it starts on April 20 and runs till May. What a great way to kick off a festival.
