Casey Affleck to reteam with ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES director Andrew Dominik?
With the question of the validity of his directorial debut, I'M STILL HERE, being the talk of the film world, it looks like Affleck is set to not only return to acting, but will be reteaming with one of his last directors, Andrew Dominik.
Now, for those who may remember, the two have previously worked together in the rather brilliant THE ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES BY THE COWARD ROBERT FORD, and according to then NY Times, Affleck is “probably” going to join one of Dominik’s upcoming films.
While Dominik is working on a remake of Guillaume Canet’s TELL NO ONE, at this point he’s simply writing the film, which makes the film in question most likely his Naomi Watts-starring Marilyn Monroe biopic, BLONDE. The film is getting set to go, with a January start date, and is the only real project on the docket for Dominik as a filmmaker.
Personally, I couldn’t be more excited about this news. Affleck is a wonderful actor, and with Dominik teaming back up with him, I can only imagine what type of film BLONDE could end up becoming. JESSE JAMES is a stunning piece of Terrence Malick-esque beauty and one can only hope that BLONDE will be equally beautiful.
