And the roles just keep on flowing in for one Jeremy Renner.

Following up his casting as the lead in the upcoming fourth film in the BOURNE franchise, THE BOURNE LEGACY, THR is reporting that Renner has joined the cast of the upcoming Fox animated film, ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT.

The fourth film in the ICE AGE franchise, he’ll be joined by Jennifer Lopez, Wanda Sykes, Keke Palmer, Drake, Aziz Ansari, and the returning Ray Ramano, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, John Leguizamo, Seann William Scott, and Josh Peck. The film will see Renner take on the role of Gutt “a self-styled master of the high seas,” in what will be the next entry of one of Fox’s most profitable franchises.

Personally, I am really starting to worry about where Renner’s career is heading. Toss this into the batch of franchise pictures he’s getting himself into, and you have the makings of a profitable, but not at all intriguing career ahead of him. Here’s to hoping he nabs himself a role that’s a bit more interesting.

In other casting news, with FAST FIVE hitting theaters this week, Paul Walker is set to star in and produce a new film, VEHICLE 19, according to THR

Written and directed by South African filmmaker Mukunda Michael Dewil, the film will follow “an unsuspecting traveler (Walker) in a foreign country who picks up the wrong rental car and becomes tangled in a web of corruption by the local police.” The project sounds really interesting, and an otherwise subdued turn for an actor prone to the obnoxious action film.
