CATS & DOGS: THE REVENGE OF KITTY GALORE trailer
I haven't gotten around to watching 2001's CAT & DOGS. There are so many titles in my Netflix queue and I just haven't made it there yet. But while trolling the interweb looking for film news, I watched the trailer for this movie and I had to share it with the world. Maybe it is because I just woke up from a nap and am still feeling a bit tired but I'd probably watch this movie. If I was taking a "personal wellness day" and it was on cable.
The trailer opens with Fred Armisen carrying in a cocker spaniel puppy, the same breed of dog as my favorite childhood pet. (Rest in Peace, Princess.) There is a larger (I'm not good at guessing breeds) other dog, that isn't very pleased with his new playmate. The puppy turns out to be a cat, named Kitty Galore, who is there to steal the dogs' classified documents. The dog contacts its friends, including a squirrel that does the "hamster dance" to unite and stop the cat from its plan to rule the world. The dogs (some of whom wear neckties!) have to join forces with cats (in bowties!) in order to save the world.
Check out the trailer after the break.
The idea that pets are trying to rule the world is certainly an alarming one. It brings up some weird issues that arose when I read "Animal Farm" for the first time. I don't want to think that while I'm scooping solids from the litter box, my cat is plotting against me. I already leave in fear of "Cat Scratch Fever" and toxoplasmosis, isn't that enough?
The film will be released on July 30, 2010.
