I am super excited about this new original film from Pixar, coming to us from a studio that, lately, seems to have been mainly focusing on sequels. But here we are with even more evidence of this anticipated project, and a teaser trailer for this film is going to be played before CARS 2!

Check out four character images from BRAVE after the break.

BRAVE characters

The images we have today include four of the main characters in the film. The red-headed wild child is Princess Merida, who is to be voiced by Kelly MacDonald (Boardwalk Empire and NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN). She is the most skilled archer in the land. The elegant-looking Queen Elinor is being voiced by the talented Emma Thompson (what hasn't she been in, and yes, she is amazing).

BRAVE characters

Them we have the Wise Woman, voiced by Julie Walters (HARRY POTTER films as well as many British television shows) and finally Lord MacIntosh who is voiced by Craig Ferguson. I like the name there, a slight nod to the influence and support Steve Jobs has given Pixar over the years.

The synopsis for BRAVE goes as follows: "In a land of beauty and ancient lore, Scottish princess, Merida, defies her parents and tradition, by pursuing an interest in archery, but inadvertently jeopardizes her father's kingdom in the process."

The film is directed by Mark Andrews and will hit theaters on June 22, 2012.
