Charlize Theron picks up rights to TWO EYES STARING, eyeing it for a remake
It looks like every actor and their mother are getting into the film production game.
According to THR, Charlize Theron and her production company, Denver & Delilah, have picked up the rights to the Dutch horror flick, TWO EYES STARING, with the hopes of remaking the piece.
The original film is directed by Elbert van Strien, and follows a nine-year-old girl who finds out that her new friend happens to be the ghost of the dead twin of her mother. Talk about a convoluted logline.
At this point, reviews of the original film have been mixed, but with a premise that at least sounds interesting, this could be a promising remake. The thing about this film being remade, that I think justifies it more than other modern remakes, is that since the film hasn’t truly found much success critically or publicly, there is a distinct possibility for improvement, where as something like LET ME IN has a much harder road truly making its own mark as something more than just a remake.
This is about as far as the news on this project goes, but hopefully this one will find its footing, because who knows, this could be actually quite good.
