Well, check it out best you can...if you can make out what the design is in the following photo, taken by Encore Magazine at the the 65th Australian International Movie Convention. Is it a shot looking out from inside an ice cream freezer? Is it a picture of Mary Elizabeth Winstead in a fogged up shower holding a flashlight? Is it an ice sculpture of...I don't know...a thing? It boggles the mind! I imagine that whatever the design of the poster actually is, it's pretty cool and is just difficult to make out in this amateur photograph.

The film stars Winstead and Aussie actor Joel Edgerton (whose current role in ANIMAL KINGDOM is one you should rush out to the indie cinema to catch) and is a prequel of sorts leading up to the events that we see in John Carpenter's THE THING from 1982.

Check out the poster after the jump and take your wildest guess at what it's of. Because I haven't the foggiest.

    I like traffic lights.

It’s the thing’s view from inside the block of ice they found in the snow. the circle of light is most likely where they wiped away the snow on top of the ice. The patterns are cracks in the ice.
