If Natalie Portman fans got their Padmés in an Amidala when that giant, angry house cat happened to rip her clothing off ever so conveniently in ATTACK OF THE CLOTHES, then wait till they get a load of her all Xena: Warrior Princess'd out, bow and arrow and all.
This geek fantasy comes courtesy of a new image from David Gordon Green's YOUR HIGHNESS (more like YOUR HOTNESS! Am I right? Am I right?), a stoner comedy set in medieval times starring Portman and Zooey Deschanel, while reuniting James Franco and Danny McBride with their PINEAPPLE EXPRESS director. Imagine it as “KRULL meets BARRY LYNDON." At least according to McBride who told me that himself at SXSW '09.
The film centers around two brothers (Franco and McBride) and heirs to the throne. One brother (Franco) appears to be the more worthy one, while the other tends to be a bit more apathetic (McBride). But when a threat poses itself (in the form of Theroux), the brothers must band together and set out on a quest to save their father’s kingdom. According to USA Today, Portman is no damsel in distress but rather "a Red Sonja-like warrior who tags along on the road trip and tempts McBride."
YOUR HIGHNESS hits theaters April 11, 2011. Hopefully we'll hear something by way of a SXSW screening, as I could totally see that happening.
